Wow, you cracked that in a nutshell Wren, I totally agree with everything you just wrote. I must go and find your stories again, I believe I read some in the past and loved them :)

Thanks, Yvonne. They're all indexed on the "front page" of my journal, or online at the Moonshadow Tribe website.

Couldn't agree more with all the comments. Add to this that Wren and Gaedhal are two of the best (imho) authors out there. They have the voices of Brian and Justin perfectly, sometimes better than C/L who used characters to make personal points that defied continuity.

Some writers fell that the bashing destroyed Justin's innocence. I loved him because it didn't and Brian respected that when others of the gang lost sight of this. I loved the characters because their love was so pure and I loved the actors because they were so breathtakingly beautilful together.

Thank you.

I am totally honoured to be included in such a compliment with Gaedhal who is, and has been virtually since the beginning, one of the shining lights in this fandom.

Like you, I loved the characters that I saw in that first season. Even the ones I saw at the end of S3. After that ... they kept coming and going.

But through all five seasons, I was mesmerised by the talent, the integrity, the intelligence, and yes, the beauty of the two actors playing those characters. And the chemistry between them was something I had simply never seen on screen before between two men. (And I've been watching gay-themed movies since the 70's.)

They made those characters unique, gave them voice and nuances that were not in the writing, nor in the direction.

I will be forever grateful to them both.

That's what fuels my anger with C/L - that's what they threw away.

... exactly!!

I agree with all you have said here, so well put.

Thank you. I sometimes sit and wonder "what if ..."

What if we'd been given the ending they and we deserved?

Maybe the fandom would have faded away by now. Maybe it's the need for resolution that keeps us hanging in there.

Or not.

Maybe it's just that having found perfection we're damned if we're going to let it go. LOL

in their ego-centred desire to 'make a statement' they threw all that away to score some minor political points

totally agree with you. Thank you so well expressed in words all that I felt.

Thank you. I think it's how many many of us felt, and feel.

*sigh*

Oh, well, we always have fanfic to turn to. *g8
