I've been promising pictures of the new lamppost and the faucet and then getting home too late to make the lamppost one. If it's dark, all you see is a really bright bluish light in the photo. So here they are!

It has really helped. I've been very busy all day... but happy instead of grumbly. Usually when I have no time to work on quilting, I get grouchy- today I wasn't and that is a good thing!

You should absolutely do Christmas, for yourself as well as Em!

It's always hard for me to get into Christmas. I think it's because I live alone. There's no one to do it for, or with. Christmas is always at my sister's house. But I do have lights this year, so maybe I'll at least string those up somewhere.

Even when I lived alone in college, I had a tree. I went home for actual Christmas, of course, but I just couldn't enjoy the season without a little tree to decorate.

Perhaps I should send you a norwegian pine- it's a pretty house plant and every year you can hang lights and baubles on it and feel all Christmas-y.
