I watched the new ep today and have been contemplating it for HOURS... you sum up my interpretation of John's most dangerous introspective struggle really well. No one ever seems to believe him - how long before he stops believing himself?

I think we are all so stuck on labels that it's hard to bend them once they might not fit anymore. In my head, he's believed and said to for so long, it's like a knee-jerk response now. No matter what else has changed, he'll still just say it.
