Hotlinking? So not cool.

Congratulations, msasl, you're a hotlinker.

This entry explains exactly what hotlinking is, and why it's not, as previously mentioned, cool. Read it. That goes for everyone, especially if you're unsure about what constitutes hotlinking and what doesn't.

If it comes to the mods' or maintainers' attention that someone is hotlinking files, they'll be warned. They'll probably be called out as a hotlinker in a new entry to the community. Second strike, and they're banned from posting and commenting at wranglers. There will be no exceptions to this rule.

It is through the generosity of many members at wranglers and other Brokeback Mountain communities that we are able to download and view the various interviews, et cetera. Don't sour things for them.

[ETA] For those people commenting and saying that the public calling-out is harsh, I suggest that they'd feel differently if they had a large file on their server hotlinked. Directly-linking to any files is a huge no-no. wranglers is actually lenient on hotlinkers: most communities call the hotlinker out and ban them immediately.

Oh, and FYI: the file in question was bbm_media's biggest. And it's not up to the community to forgive the hotlinker for stealing bandwidth; it's up to the person whose bandwidth was stolen. Don't forgive someone for stealing something that belongs to someone else.
