well, my grandparents were too sick to travel, i forget why now, my parents didn't seem like it would be that easy for them to come (my dad had a heart attack the previous august and they both were sick a lot that year) and i wasn't graduating with my class and i didn't have that many '05 friends, plus a lot (i'd even say the majority) of my friends didn't go and anyway i had my thesis defense with the writing department and that felt quite final and satisfying in itself. and i never did have much enthusiasm for celebrating the end of things anyway.

It was actually a very beautiful, sunny day. Although kind of hot for being out that long. And the speaker was boring. But seeing everyone in funny outfits made it all worth it.
