So, I've had my phone turned off for most of this week and have been hiding in bed. Why? Because I'm an idiot. Or depressed. Or whatever. Take your pick. Also my meds have made half my face fall off. It's special. I look like I've bean belted across the face. Wheee

Yeah, but it's less like I need an eyepatch and more like someone's smashed me across the cheek with a skillet =( Or scurvy - for some reason it makes me think of scurvy.

It's a damn sight better than my first attempts, yo. You could add some hard edges in there and it may add some gravitas, but it has a dreamy quality as is. I want to know who they're looking at. So he's been seen to once already for the hand, and now he's been shot, and is bleeding to death?

I actually have no idea how to paint things in photoshop so am just layering faint smudgey things on top of one another =P I shall have a play with it later and see if I can sharpen it up and sort some of the mess out.

They're both looking at a Union field medic who's clearing up after a battle. (not that it looks like there was a battle - too green and floofy. Hmm.) And yes, his hand has an older wound on it, but in this battle he got shot. I should probably write all this wibble up - I'm in the mood after watching lots of Hell on Wheels =)

Aha! Well, painting in photoshop is no different than traditional art, just easier because of that awesome undo command. I've been so focussed on learning that I was in the middle of a piece the other night and had the sudden thought, WAIT, I can art my own fic! And now I feel rather like a sadist gleefully imagining all the havoc I can wreak on my characters. Poor bastards.

Did you watch the season ender of Hell on Wheels? No spoilers, in case you haven't, but I enjoyed how much it surprised me.

Before I forget, I saw this and thought of you. I told you the feathers were cutting edge. ;)

Don't be silly, Darlin', you look gorgeous as always. And no, you are not allowed to argue my opinion with me on this one. Anything else, fine, but when it comes to how beautiful you are, sorry my love, you wont win that one.

I happen to like the drawing. It has a slight "fog of war" feel to me that one would expect after a huge battle. That medic has probably seen things he would rather have not seen and is exhausted by now.
