Last night I had insane Bourne Identity style dreams all about assassins and agents and double-triple-crosses and torture and missing files, set-ups and all manner of crazy shit. There was a lot of complex plot I'm kinda glad I can't remember - it was like a catastrophe curve thriller spy film with extra surreality and violence that I never want to ( Read more... )

Few people think crows are beautiful in comparison to other birds.

I have nothing against crows per se. However, any bird that decides to start pecking away at partially disintigrated piece of what I'm assuming was a pigeon, up on an advertisement board while I'm trying to enjoy being at a café's outdoors terrace having drinks with a friends loses major brownie points in my books ;)

*laughs*

pigeons deserve it, they're just flying rats (or the london/city ones are at any rate).

just think, if the crow wasn't happily pecking at the carcass then the pigeon would likely be trying to bug you for food or dive-bombing/pooing on you. It being eaten at the top of a bill-board was really the neatest solution =)

You seem to be laboring under the misapprehension that Parisian pigeons fly. I agree that in most cities they are to be compared to flying rats, but in Paris, they're mostly waddling rats, with a few hops put in, and way too degenerate or lazy to do much proper flying.
As for point the second, I maintain that "the neatest solution" cannot be accurate since there were bits of fluff floating down from his perch. As such, I can only conclude that it was an uncouth crow, and that no raven of proper breeding would have stooped to such behavior as to being caught eating in public, and would have repaired to its closest lair to enjoy a "feast" of pigeon (which, when all is said and done, is probably less bloody than a feast of crows).

YAY! We had the mist too all over the fields around school.

Also, I think crows are glorious. They walk about like old school headmasters with their hands behind their backs, they're clever and the one that eats my Oreos is going grey, which I adore.

They walk about like old school headmasters with their hands behind their backs,

They do! They're like insane Oxbridge Dons musing on the infinite and occasionally pecking at things as if it just caught their eye and it might be the philosopher's stone =)

They are also extra clever and good at using twigs and sticks and bending wire to stab grubs and using cars to crack nuts. Oh, and they remember bad people and bad places and tell other corvid flocks to keep away - la! =)
