And your Scots lady was right: it is a shame what happened to Syd Barrett.

"If it's in you" is a really meekle song, utterly silly - but the beginning where he fecks it up is heart-breaking.
Ages back I had a dream about meeting syd barrett, he was alive and well in the Dreaming looking just like he did in '68, we spent our time causing trouble and telling pink floyd to sod off - it was very crispy =)

Of the ones I am familiar with (mainly "Piper at the Gates of Dawn") I love "Chapter 24". Someone who sets the I Ching to music is pretty odd. Someone who does it well ... that's something else.
Anyway, Pink Floyd missed him very much. There's a version of "If it's in You" with Roger Waters on vocals - and there are many references to him. He is the person they'll see "on the dark side of the Moon":-
"And if the cloud breaks, thunder in your ear
You shout and no-one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the Moon"
and the "crazy diamond" of "Wish you were Here":-
"How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we ( ... )
