X-wing picspam

Jul 05, 2009 19:34

In May, I learned that my local air and space museum has a 3/4-scale, fan-built model X-wing. So of course I had to go see it.

This weekend, I finally got around to it.

And I took a lot of pictures. )

That's so awesome. I've heard of this, never seen pics. Love the signatures - did the guests just hear about it and take a visit, or were they invited? Aaahh, the Aurebesh! If no one else translates it, I'll have to.

I think it's a traveling exhibit, and comes back here to rest between Celebration events and so on.

You can translate that? DUDE.

I have to use the page on the wiki, but it's a cipher, so yeah. Some of this is likely to be wrong.

The "someone with a line and a loop for a name..." I do believe was George Lucas himself. I'd have to check. But if you want more info/see it again - Check out the Rocky Mountain Fan Force at Theforce.net web sight/boards... or their main website at RMFF.net

They are the local Star Wars fan group in Denver and help take care of "The Bird" while at the museum. It has traveled to multiple of the Star Wars Celebrations and other mega-sized special events and that is where they picked up the signatures.

...DUDE. I'm so glad I have you smart people to point these things out to me. That's awesome!

I actually learned the X-wing existed because I was toodling around on the RMFF's site. They seem like good folk.
