"I don't feel that my students ... really *got* it"
One of the things I've been coming to grips with as a parent is the acceptance that kids will not show any /immediate/ interest in getting an important lesson. My hopes are put on the future where, when they are presented with a situation, these lessons will bubble up from their unconscious and infuse their actions with compassion. It may be thankless, but have hope that, as ultimately good young adults, they /will/ have learned from you what to do when the time comes.

I'm glad Maya's doing better with her anxiety issues. Anxiety sucks.
