well, that's my guess (donna and sam), after far too many years of watching TV. But yeah, poor Ed. Misha made him do 'suicide by cop', basically. Sure hope Ed doesn't end up like that other SRU cop!
Yeah, I do miss Jules too, although I do like Jessica Steen, but her character didn't have much to do this episode, which I think was predominantly a Greg episode.
Donna (Jessica Steen) didn't get to do much in this episode, except show Sam's definite discomfort with her presence, while Jules recovers in the hospital, or at home.
I'm finding it slightly amusing that Sam is the one being all emo about Jules not being there. Most shows would have the genders reversed for that to happen.
Makes me wonder how he would be reacting if a guy had been added to the team. Much the same? Does it just add some extra sting to see another woman on the team?
I'm also wondering how they're going to transistion back to Jules being on the team again. There wasn't any mention of Donna's job being temporary, so it would seem like a demotion for her if she worked this hard and got bumped out because Jules can come back to work.
Would Donna get transferred to another team (which would work for me, because she could still guest star from time to time)? Will she decide it's not for her and leave on her own?
In a way, I'd like to see Donna decide on her own that the job's not working for her and leave under her own power.
Since we've been seeing what many would consider a "macho man" in the form of Sam getting all emo, it could also be interesting to have Donna leave because she can't break out of the macho cop mindset. If that's the reason, she could request a transfer or be persuaded into it by Greg.
I really love the non-stoic reactions everyone has. Greg's looks of "genuine" alarm when the body was dropped of the balconey, and Ed's panic/alarm when he shot the bad guy. It's so much better than watching the shows where they just shoot the guy and walked away like they didn't just see a life taken.
Jessica Steen's face looked...lifted. She just looked odd for some reason.
Wouldn't say lifted, but with the hair pulled back, that could be it as usually she has hair loose. Yeah, I like that they do react when someone dies. I mean, on far too many other shows, people show the same reaction as well, cracking an egg.
