I am sick of the cold already. If I didn't love the trees and rivers and springs so much here, I'd move further south. This weather blows.

In other news, I was really tired yesterday and did not have as good a workout at boxing as normal. I just didn't have the energy. Also the coach kept sneaking up on me while I was working the speed bag. He

My problem is I make tea, and it gets cold SO fast. The problem is that houses in Florida are built to hold the cool in. So when winter comes, it's miserable.

Like you I love the hot weather, but am resigned to having to live where winter makes an appearance. As I was reading this though, I was wondering if, where you live, houses aren't properly insulated so you have to deal with the cold both outside and inside as well. That would drive me nuts, especially if I lived someplace where I had no reason to buy warm blankets. I hope the cold weather passes quickly.

We're in for a cold snap here. It's 34 F as I write this, but the forecast calls for a low of 7 F. We live in an "ice block" house which ironically means that it is well insulated and will keep us warm. (The "ice" is really cement, and it's other purpose is to prevent a tornado from picking us up and dropping us off in Oklahoma).

You're right. Houses in Florida are not insulated because they're built to hold the cool in. Oddly enough, they're built of concrete block, but then they just hang drywall over that. So you end up with a house that is easy to cool, but almost impossible to heat. So I've had to invest in blankets the last 10 years or so as climate change has brought us colder winters.

7 degrees? OMG, I would die. I can see why concrete block would be food for tornado weather. It's good for hurricanes, too. Wind has to be ungodly to affect it.

Nope, not me. I wear multiple layers, and they are soft, but I prefer to be a little hot to being at all cold.

Well, to be honest, I rarely want to get out of bed early in the morning, but when it's cold, it's REALLY hard to be motivated. (grin)
