I'm rewatching parts of 3.06 right now for a fic I'm working on and just noticed something pretty awesome that will probably not make it into the fic, so I want to share. ( Here be 3.06 spoilers ... )
Oh, Rachel. Her first instinct is always to choose the option which will serve her ends best, and she is generally self-centered, but she does adore her friends - Kurt especially - even if she inadvertently hurts them at times. Looking back at Season 1, I find she's grown some. It broke my heart when she realized at last her campaign was not worth the loss of her friendship with Kurt. Rachel will always endeavor to reach the top, but she is learning to compromise gradually. I adore that about her.
And Blaine (I can't think about him without getting emotional because of the jewel you sent my way), he handled the situation so maturely despite his obvious disappointment. (I might or might not have wanted to throw a rock at Finn at that instant)
I really want to go back and rewatch more of Season 1 now.
Have you read Conspiracy of Love by cookiedough? It's sort of my headcanon for Kurt and Rachel's friendship now.
Yes, Blaine. Such a big, forgiving heart. I think he gets a lot of practice at home acting more patient and mature than ought to be expected for his age. That's my belief, anyway!
