I just reached 90 yesterday on my hunter -- first time I've ever gotten a hunter to max level! And since this is also the first time I've substantially played a hunter since Wrath, I realized that I basically have no idea what the class is capable of any more. If you want a dramatic looking wolf there are some in the eternal vale place that look almost identical to the spirit beast skoll just slightly more grey. Sine they're wolves not spirit beasts you don't need to be BM to tame them.

Ooh. Are those the ones in Krasarang Wilds -- the Deepwilds Spirit? I admit those looked pretty badass.

Do you mean the Thundermaws? I aggro'd a pack of them shortly after I dinged 90 on my hunter and ended up dying. Aggro'd a pack again yesterday and managed to survive that time.

Mine is named Glacial, and you get him by farming up the cage key from the ravagers on Azuremyst. (I have the key on my hunter, so we could battletag to shorten that step if you decide you want the green and bloo :3 ) I know you said down below you don't like ravagers, but I love the spiky little things X3

I also use the red arcane serpent and the black dragonhawk, and together those rounds out the pets I have on my hunter. (I always keep an empty slot for "OH GOD I GOTTA HAVE IT" pet taming emergencies).

He's a lvl 24 (or 28? 24 i think) who hangs out above Rachett.

There's also Pitch who looks identical and is in Sholazar Basin. He's for a quest so always around unlike Humar who's a rare.

I didn't read every comment (sorry! I did skim) so hopefully I'm not repeating anything.

First, do you know about Glyph of Stampede? It's a minor glyph that makes all your Stampeding pets look like your current pet. I like the consistent look, myself (since all the extra pets stack up behind the mob anyway).

Also, I saw you said you probably wouldn't get a water strider pet, but I really love mine! Being able to walk on water can be really handy. :D

Also, you know you can have up to 50 pets in your stable? This is great when you want to experiment with different pets - you can just stable the ones you're not sure about.

Walking on water is very handy indeed! But I do have the mount that does it, and tbh I don't really like the way the water striders look. :( I think it's because they only have 4 legs instead of 6, it makes their gait look odd.

I can see that. I think they're super-cute, myself, but to each her own! Especially since there are so many great pets to choose from. :)

I like mine for walking/standing on water, as opposed to just riding (and I can still ride on water - with any mount I want.) I do a lot of fishing, and I don't care for the rafts.

Sometimes i only fill one slot so when i stampede it's like, just an areal squadron of Chimera or Dragonhawks. bwah..

I'm glyphed for more raid duitiful things though, Misdirect/Animal Bond/Liberation - anything to give me a heal boost and less chance of pulling agro.
I've been really tough about not glyphing for vanity.. but yeeeeesssss. Inside I covet all the glyphs.

Is the ghost saber the one from Darkshore that you have to find the right statuette to summon? I remember helping a hunter friend of mine get one, back in the day.

Yep! I did that so often as a low level -- it's really hard as a lowbie, but once you're higher it's a piece of cake.

The ghost saber is my all-time favorite pet and the only one I still have from level 20-ish. And I also still have the figurine she spawned from. It's a useless object taking up a bank slot but I can't bear to get rid of it.
