Rez scrolls?

Not sure if this has been asked several times already... (at least I didn't find even a tag for scroll of resurrection)

My friend (person A) wants to rez my account.
-> I apparently would get a "free" 80 toon (and according to the FAQ this ties to the next one)
-> Free realm transfer
-> 7 days of game time
-> free Cata (well I already have it, but it's ( Read more... )

Its not an either or thing. You get a free 80 and if the 80 is not on the realm of the friend who sends the scroll, it also gets a transfer to the friends realm. The 80 can be an existing or newly created character, that you choose through the website stuff when your ready for it.

1. Don't see why it wouldn't work, but you didn't mention when your account became inactive. It only works on accounts that were inactive on or before March 4 2012. So if your account was active then or later than then you won't be able to get the benefits.
2. Yes

Well I'm expecting it to work, since I stopped playing... *looks from own journal entries* In February... wow... *pats self for forgetting how to count 6 x 13*

Edit: This is what got me puzzled for that question.

March 5th was the start date of the deal, so basically it's saying 1 deal per account. 'Other licenses' refers to other accounts on your battlenet account. Like I have Wow1, Wow2 and Wow3 as separate accounts on the one battlenet account, they are all different licenses despite being one battlenet. So if I accepted the Rez on Wow2 I couldn't take it again on Wow2, but I would be able to take another one on Wow3, if that makes sense?

Okay, that makes sense, I'm just... well goldish memoried on everything from what I've played. (Lost interest -> lost information/memory needed.)

I don't have a second license of the game on the same account though. I have two battle.net accounts, which I can't merge (not the same surname so herp-a-derp... my younger siblings are under my father's custody, but they don't play anymore *sighs*) and since I'm the only one who is obsessed with sitting on infront of the computer they were like "here, have this \o/" and I never touched it. Oh well, being an account guard-dog is what I do best.

As a note, you don't have to pay anything to get the scrolls benefits. You get free amount of time at first I believe it is a week or two I can't remember off top of my head and am too lazy to check. You get the upgrade and level up etc.. as soon as you accept the scroll. Then at any point after that your friend will get the benefits as you pay. There could even be a pause between the two months as well and they would still get the benefit.

SO, you could easily accept the scroll and putter around and see if you actually want to play before you decide to pay.

The thing that's stopping me is that I'd have to bother downloading the entire thing. (Or wait for it to happen - bf has super limited internet speed, while I have super-leech style...)

I have some old version copy-stashed to one of the hard drives, but... moving that to the actual computer would take around 2 hours + then to update... and my boyfriend would actually have to download the entire thing, because He stopped playing two years ago, only logging to merge the account as a battle.net one because I insisted it.

@-@;; Maybe it's just better not to bother... I do this way too often on three other MMO's that I play...

Your boyfriend doesn't need to download it if you've already downloaded/patched, just copy it from your machine to his. Similarly if you have any local friend, they can either bring their machine over or stick a copy on a USB stick/external HD/some DVDs, might be quicker than downloading the patches.

Hard to copy when it's Mac vs. Pc ^^;;

Also we're sort of hermits, we have only few friends. None of them play are are even interested. (One is even to the point of "don't want to play a game that I have to pay for", but he's an extremist and spends time hiking around... and making real life hunter traps.)

1. As long as your account has been inactive for the correct amount of time, it'll work ( ... )

Well my problem is, that I'd rather have some other character transfered (6 x 85s... nnnope), while I'd create the level 1 -> 80 to the destination realm. Oh well... can't have everything.

And well the bf's account is actually Vanilla, but since they've all been insta-BCd at some point I just won't make a great fuss about it.

As far as I was able to tell, you could get just the transfer, or the boost to 80, or both, but only one character could be affected. So you could roll a new character on the realm you want to be on and get that one boosted, but then you couldn't claim the free transfer for another character.

I ended up rolling a level 1 on a realm where I had some money, loading her with heirlooms and some gold and items, then getting her transferred to where I wanted to play and boosting her to 80 at the same time. (And then promptly ignored her ever since, but that's because PANDAS.)

I hope you get it sorted out to your satisfaction somehow! :)

Thank you for the input, I shall continue flailing with my retpaladin (achievement prince-ss), legendary staff durid and a hunter with all the spirit beasts and minipets... that's just to get started.

Although sure most of those things are Account wide, I still don't like the thought of leaving any of them behind. =/
