I am not particularly good with visual stuff, but you may want to keep in mind just how small your bookcover will actually be. In the big list of fanfics, when you'll need it to make the biggest impression to snag a reader, it'll be 50x74 pixels, so I don't think anyone would be able to read the full title spelled out as you intend. They would be able to see bottle caps and shells and such all washed together in the sand, though, which I think would still give the same impression.

In fact, just the bottlecap might be an idea, because a single item does a lot better when the cover's shrunk down. I tried using a more cluttered image for one of my fics and it just becomes a stupid jumble of colour. That said, one bottle cap might prioritise one story over the others so... decisions decisions.

The thing with the bottlecap is that it's important to Tamatanga's story, but not everyone else. Maybe if I get similar colored objects and put them in a pile? Orrrrrrr what I could do is use dark construction paper to make 12 sections of a bright piece of construction paper?

Yeah, I thought it might be a bit too character-specific. :/ I think different objects in a pile might work well, yeah. Maybe even quite different colour-wise, just to make sure they survive that stupid transition to so tiny.
