Newbie Baby Warrior

I have always played healers and on a whim I rolled a cute little gnome warrior. Figured I would level it just to get another alt with a different profession, but I think I love the little guy. He is almost ready to do his first random and I am scared to death to jump into the tanking pool. First, no matter how many times I have run a dungeon I ( Read more... )

The dungeon maps have improved quite a bit, and the longer/more complicated dungeons have been shortened into two separate instances, or simplified to have more direct paths to the last boss. If you're not sure of where to go, I'm sure someone else in the party can volunteer directions if you ask. I did this a few times myself when I was still unfamiliar with certain dungeons.

In terms of playstyle/spec, warriors are pretty fun! You'll want to make sure you pick up the Blood & Thunder and Warbringer talents in your Prot tree. Try to open with a Rend & Thunderclap rotation on pulls with multiple mobs, and that will really help you keep AoE threat. Warbringer gives you a lot of mobility since you'll be able to use Charge in combat and in any stance. I love my warrior. :3

i'd also recommend tidy plates and tidy plates threat plates. they're really excellent way to see who the mobs are attacking, that kind of thing.

good luck! :)

You might want to check out Maps for Tanks, a resource started by Liala of Disciplinary Action. You'll need to scroll down and load more posts a few times to get to the lowest level dungeons. She's also not all done with them yet, but it's a great start!

Good luck!

I can't help out since I'm a diehard DPSer, but I feel you on the getting lost. If it's possible to miss a turn or fall of a ledge, I'll be the one that does it. Always. I always strictly follow the tank (since I'm melee and usually need to be where the tank is!), but obviously that advice won't work for you.

All I can say is best of luck!

The addon tauntmaster is a lifesaver; it gives you a nice ui to see who's creeping up on you, threatwise, and you can set right and left clicks to use taunts, intervene, or other 'hey now, bad guys hit me, not you' abilities.
