weird problem

Feb 26, 2012 16:37

sometimes, not all the time, i can't get wow to actually get to the loading screen, delete the wtf files and can get in. tried google fu, tried the forums for info. repaired, reinstalled...i'm at a lost here.
running win 7.
can't think of anything major that has changed. updated all drivers etc.
anyone have any suggestions?

Delete or move your Cache and Interface folders to your desktop and then run the game. Update your addons, turn them all off, and then turn them on one-by-one to see if any of them trigger it. Is it happening when you're logging into the game or when you're going through in-game loading screens?

Edit: One more thing!

I've heard (and I don't know if this is true or not), that installing WoW to C:/program files can cause the game to be weird, and that putting it just into C:/ causes to behave better. Maybe you can move your game files there and see if that helps?

Is this happening only when you load from the launcher? I have an issue that sometimes the launcher doesn't work to load the game, so I have to go to the actual game files directory and load directly from the wow.exe file.

I used to have problems getting the game to run with the launcher as well, but the solution you mentioned worked for me too.
