Tauren Disc Priest Leveling

I'm creating a Tauren Priest(which I'm pretty excited about if only to take up tailoring and finally make my own bags, and shiny flying carpets)!

I have a couple of questions:

Is it just as viable to level as Discipline instead of Shadow? Or will I have a much rougher time? I had planned on trying to do some instancing alongside solo

Disc is recommended I believe, as it heals you if you go Atonement build and is a bit easier on the mana, at least until you get some of the nicer Shadow talents, which can take a while. Shadow is pretty squishy and really rough on the mana. I like it, but you'd probably have an easier time as Disc.

Sounds great.:) My ex played a Shadow Priest, so I just always saw the more higher-end stuff with all the mana-regeneration talents. Though this was back in BC/WotLK. Disc it is!

Around the 40s you should be able to quest very comfortably as shadow, but at the point, duel spec!

I don't know about in higher levels, but I know you can do disc just fine up to the 20s or so.

Awesome! I always thought Shadow was the "default" leveling mentality, but I think Disc looks awesome and don't mind healing some instances as I go.

Still going strong just poking along with disc as a leveling spec at 76. I just picked up atonement and use my shield if things get too bad. I haven't any idea what i'm doing with it and it's still easier than shadow.

Awesome to know that still works then.:) I'm considering just staying Disc until 85, and healing as such in 5-mans. I might dabble in Shadow a bit later, but I like the idea of Disc.

I see a lot of disc priests queueing as both heals AND DPS in the dungeon finder, too. And up to a certain point it works really well.

Awesome! I'll probably heal mainly, but I am liking the sound of Atonement builds.

Not sure if this will help because it seems more for endgame, but this Disc Priest Guide is pretty awesome.

I love disc priests so much that I have two. One for each faction. :)

Me too, although mine are both shadowing at the moment. Those wings are too cute on my goblin gal.

Thank you!!! This guide is so excellent. I do a lot of end-game stuff on my Shaman now, so it's nice to have a glimpse into the future. Very well-written and entertaining.:D
