Post some pictures of your undead Dks! (Also, how do frost?)

I've been trying really hard to get better at my DK, I leveled him as a female draenei blood tank.  At max level though, I really don't like blood anymore and instead want to give frost a whirl.  I have two problems though ( Read more... )

Unholy presence all the way. What is your rotation?

My rotation on boss fights is as follows:
Outbreak>Obliteratex3>frost strike till out of runic power>refresh diseases>outbreak>FS RP dump>Horn of Winter

On trash packs and whatnot I tend to follow this:
HB>PS>pestilence>obliterate>FS>Horn of Winter

Basically obliterate when you have the runes and your diseases don't need to be refreshed and then FS to dump runic power - refresh diseases when needed (best bet is around 3s left to be safe) and keep Horn of Winter on cooldown.

One thing to keep in mind however, is that Outbreak doesn't give you runic power so if you are low on RP, refresh using HB and PS.

And if you are in tanking gear you will have real trouble with your rune regen rate. If you can pick up some quest rewards that are dps or even if there are some inexpensive greens on the AH that'd be a good place to start.

This is my dk. It's a fairly standard cookie cutter spec and I am fairly decently geared. I tend to do about 20-24k sustained dps and I have no idea if I ( ... )

That's the rotation I've been trying to keep up but I end up with too little runic power to keep it up. I think it's largely a gear issue then. I rather not go down from 333s but it's really hurting my dps if I get out of the regen loop. x_x

(From what I can tell based on our raid group's frost dk, your dps is in a good range for that gear. I'd ask him for help but he's not on much.)

Well the thing is, even if your gear is 333s but itemized for tanking it's not doing you much good to dps. If you don't want to get some other gear try reforging all of your tank stats to haste.

Also, quest items in Twilight Highlands and Uldum are pretty decent ilvls as far as I remember.

I wish I had a Forsaken death knight to show you, because they rock! (One of my pastimes when watching TV may or may not be making toons on random servers, just to play with the character creation screen... >.>) I totally, wholeheartedly support the move to Forsaken. :D

Oh oh! I can help with this!

Or at least show off, which is nearly the same thing.

Showing off is also good. :D Those shoulders are awesome, I'm pleased to see big shoulders look good on the forsaken ladies.

Thanks for info too. Thank goodness for jp gear for those gear gaps. :P

I had no idea Unholy Presence was best... That makes me sad. :(

I know. Sadly, there's really no point in frost presence even existing, right now. =( Mine is frost, I run mostly in unholy and switch to blood presence if I'm either taking a beating (MF dailies) or rounding up a bunch of mobs so I can AOE them down. (mostly tournament stuff, but blood just makes it so I can grab half the area and laugh at them.)

I love frost. I love my frost presence. I just never get to USE it any more. =( I wish they'd fix that.

The only time frost presence is better is for extended periods of AE dps, and that doesn't really happen very often :( They really need to figure out a way to make frost presence be the best for frost spec. It just makes sense.

Off-topic question:

If an undead dies and is raised undead again, is it alive or just undead-squared?

"Best viewed from a large distance" would be my guess.
