Class Feedback

I didn't see this posted, so I decided to post it here.

Blizzard seeks player feedback.

The link above goes to WoWInsider, which has links to each of the class threads as well as links to the European threads.

More below. )

I think it's cool they're doing this, but I'm skeptical about how much they'll actually get out of it. I mean, there's such a huge response, with over 50 pages on the US forums and 20 on the EU forums for every class, that's a lot to look over! And how much of that is just whining or ill informed or things Blizz specifically asked to not be posted?

So many posts I glanced over were how 'Blizz hates my class anyway' or 'we never get anything' it makes me wanna rip my hair out. Shut up and don't ruin it for people who actually want to take advantage of an opportunity like this. I guess I do have a low opinion of the playerbase. xD;

FWIW, the will almost certainly have an analsyt to go through all the crap and pick out the stuff that is useful to the developers. If we're really luck they'll even have a competent one... (If they haven't, they should offer me a job...)

Ha! I remember the last time this happened. All classes were due to get their own review going into TBC. The guy who was assigned the shaman review/forum consultation was sick (where 'away sick' actually meant at Comic-con), so nobody did the review and nobody gave any of the information shaman had put together to the devs. Shaman basically got nothing out of the review they'd been crying for since release (this was the first time since then the class had been looked at). The CM then appeared on the forums fresh from Comic-on and posted the worlds derpiest post asking how great we all throught the review was then permabanned everyone who replied negatively regardless of how polite they'd tried to be. Every shaman who mentioned his name or the words bus shock (someone threatened to hit him with a bus at one point, which the shaman forums quickly named bus shock), or anything negative about the review on the forums got permabanned over the next week. I can only hope we see a truly Eyonix level of professionalism again!

1. What type of content do you focus on? [PvE/PvP/Both]: Both

2. If PvE, what type of PvE? [Heroics/Raids/Other]: Heroics and the occasional raid or PUG

3. If PvP, what type of PvP? [Arenas, BGs, Rated BGs]: Arenas (mostly 3's and 5's) and BGs

4. What are your biggest quality-of-life issues? I feel Ret Paladins are still weak on AoE damage. Divine Storm is still underpowered, the cooldown for Holy Wrath is long, and Consecration takes half my mana. I know Ret Paladins have never been major suppliers of AoE damage but at least Divine Storm felt more like it did something. Also I

5. What makes playing your class more fun? My impression is that Ret paladins are not the general go to class for DPS, but I love all the utility they provide and the toolbox they come with. In PvE provide buffs, I can throw a Hand of Protection on the healer, I can cleanse myself of poisons and movement impairing junk, I can shield and stun and heal and interrupt. I'm leveling another paladin as holy and he just sips on his mana in most cases and ( ... )

I haven't played Holy at level cap yet, but I'm enjoying Holy so far. Also in my experience Holy Paladins in Arenas are tough customers. They are a PITA to bring down mainly because it is either impossible or near-impossible to interrupt their casted spells depending on which of arena partners you talk to. I'm not sure if they are imbalanced - this could just be a part of WoW where they do very well.

It was funny to see you put Hand of Salvation on your least-used list, because that's a huuuge one for me in my guild. I mostly do PVE content and we have several warriors who are apparently incapable of controlling their threat. I hear it's a class weakness, but still... ;) Anyway, we get lots of requests for Hand of Salv, usually half a second before someone goes splat.

Of course, now they changed tanking, so maybe it's totally useless?

I'm still Salving our Warrior on Heroic Majordomo Staghelm, but I think that fight might be a special case.

PvE - mostly normal raids, although I'm fairly new, and would like a crack at heroics eventually.

4.What are your biggest quality-of-life issues? For instance, no longer requiring ammo could be considered a quality-of-life improvement for hunters.
Would be nice if all healer classes had a "regen mana at the rate of drinkign water" ability

5.What makes playing your class more fun?
(My main is hpala with a prot o/s. My significant alts are a tree and an arcane mage)
I love the huge array of cooldowns my pala has, despite the relatively simple basic toolbox. OTOH I enjoy my drood having a wide range of basics to call on, but not having to worry about too much outside of that.

6.What makes playing your class less fun?
Beth never dropping the sodding shield. That so isn't what you're asking for, is it?

7.How do you feel about your "rotation"? (Rotation is the accepted order in which abilities are used to maximum efficiency.)N/A ( ... )

I'm respond to your excellent questions but then I'd have to choose a main and I'm a total altoholic. *grin*

Oh they're not my questions! They're the devs, but if you want, you can just choose one that has the most issues. I'm an altoholic too, primarily shaman/druid/priest/death knight. I'd only answer shaman though, because that's the only class I play extensively.

I don't know how effective they'll be because the US hunter one filled up after a day. I couldn't respond.

They're getting only their most vocal playerbase's opinions over on the US side.

most of the forums I looked at, there's a secondary thread continuing the response. I posted my hunter response in that one and requested a sticky for that thread, after I posted my DK response. =) Why answer just one, right? ;)
