the cloth will not be an upgrade because the armor specialization bonus is so good. so just don't bother using cloth at all, period. especially if you have other decent leather pieces.

for spirit gear, you have a talent called balance of power (hopefully) in your talent tree. this means that all spirit you have on converts to hit chance. there is no leather hit gear so most of your hit will have to come from balance of power or off-pieces (like your cloak, rings, trinkets etc). if you plan to raid you need to have your hit chance at 17%.

as far as needing goes: if you are doing 5 mans, are there other caster druids in your group? if that's the case, seriously don't agonize over needing on items. especially since looking at your armory you need to replace your cloth pieces ASAP.

I would honestly go with the lower ilevel leather for your leather spec intellect bonus. Also, I don't see much wrong with rolling on something of the same ilevel if it's an upgrade stats wise. Your stats are more important than your overall ilevel, imo.

Don't use cloth at all. We get a special bonus for using all leather gear (leather specialization) that gives us 5% int. This bonus is worth far more than any cloth piece can give you.

Keep in mind, though, that spirit = hit for moonkin! So spirit gear is totally useful - if you have too much of it you can always reforge it to get as close to the hit cap as possible (which is 17% - 1742 hit rating).

In troll instances and raids, you're only going to be sharing the leather gear with resto druids, so I would say just go for it unless there's a resto druid in your group that might need the gear. In that case you could discuss it with them if you're not 100% sure it's an upgrade for you.

There's a pretty good gear guide on Graylo's Blog, but that list currently only has epic loot on it. If you scroll all the way down, the archived 4.1 gear list should have both heroic gear and troll epics on the list.

I'm going to join the people that say don't use cloth at all. The 5% int you get would be better than any cloth piece you could have.

And rolling need on something that has no spirit on it is fine. When doing that I'd just take the second to consider where your hit % is at, would losing all this spirit hurt you, would you be able to make up for it and reforge it elsewhere, etc.

People have already said "don't use cloth" - 5% intellect is huge. I would add that it's fine to roll need on a piece which is the same ilvl as you have, but better itemised. If you're in a raid and thus rolling against another boomkin, it might be polite to see if it's a bigger upgrade for them, but polite rather than necessary.
