ARGH MOTHERLAND!

Okay so. Since about 4.1 hit I've been having some weird Issues. Yes Issues with a capital I.

When I log on, I take forever to load in. At first I thought hey it's just Org or Lagrimmar doing it. Until it started happening to my druid, who is parked in Dalaran for no real reason other than it's faster to get to Uldum and Farm that way. Okay. That's ( Read more... )

I wish I could help you, but I'm only commenting to let you know that you're not alone. I have had these problems as well and, around patch days, spend far more time running scans, making updates and doing a half-dozen other troubleshooting things than I do playing WoW. Hopefully this will all get worked out, so hang in there!

Well huzzah I'm not alone! I really don't think it's my computer because this computer is only 2 years old.

and I just remembered they did rolling restarts this morning. WTF BLizz?!?

here's hoping we find a solution

I haven't encountered this problem, but I have also been running into a ton of issues since 4.2. Mine are where my WoW will crash and give me the error "World of Warcraft Retail has stopped working" and just shut down. Usually when it does it, it will crash over and over when I try to log in again with the same error until it finally lets me on.

This patch broke a lot of things, it really pisses me off. :/

I've had that one too!

I get that with the critical error and then it devolves into the above error. :|

Is WoW on the external harddrive?

nope! the external hard drive is where I'm backing my system up to. I haven't moved my wow to the drive yet.

I don't know if this will help, but I've installed and run WoW in a folder that is NOT the programs folder, so it's not write protected. Windows 7 likes to get weird with the folder permission of programs, and I recall Vista had similar issues.

Are you reformatting your entire system?

I don't even know how to reformat my system. o.o (on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being built their own computer to 1 being calling tech support because it won't turn on and it's unplugged i'm about a 5.5-ish.)

I may have to see about doing that. I think today they did rolling restarts at 5am pst, and i think... the last time this happened they did server restarts so I'm not sure what the hell is going on.)

might be a silly question, but are you making sure the addons you do leave on (bartender, etc) are up-to-date? i know when 4.2 dropped a few (recount, looking at you!) were so broken, that i actually had them overload WoW and lock it up or crash it.

aside from that, i'm afraid my tech know-how is severely lacking D: but good luck, hopefully you can find a fix!

I did actually, I made sure the ones on were updated, having broken addons destroying my system is not on the list of things to do XD

Are you running the game as your computers adminstrator? I doubt that's the problem but whenever I see "permission", I automatically think that's the problem. Also, I was told (when I had a few issues running games) that that could be a possible problem.

Always and forever, that seemed to fix it during previous issues :|

this time I was running as admin after repairing and restarting and it was still giving me that error
