the way the OP has worded it, sounds like she was dueling a subtlety rogue, he uses the ability Shadowstep on the bird (which teleports the rogue behind a targeted enemy), then maybe shadowsteps back by resetting the CD or falls or something so the hunter can then trap and get aggro.
