Heirlooms

I have a simple question about people's personal preferences regarding buying heirlooms. I hope you'll all indulge me with your opinions

I always buy class-specific, then again I always have points out the ass. And I bought a lot of it prior to the big expensive change-over.

I always bought class-specific, and I'd do it now too, since you get bonuses for wearing all of your proper armor class.

On my original server, I bought specifics just because I was drowning in emblems. I moved to a new server in late Wrath and didn't get 'looms there before the price spiked, and so I just got the most basic versions of the items to start after Cata came out. I'm still working on weapons.

I think most of the people who have specifics either bought them in Wrath or run many heroics.

I've not decided if I'll eventually get the more specific versions (like mail over leather for my hunter) or not; the lower armor works fine.

I bought nearly all the heirloom gear before Cata, I was drowning in emblems and had nothing else to do with them. I love leveling alts so I invested in the heirloom pieces. I even enchanted them all. I think the only pieces I have left are the PvP weapons and some of the shoulders.

I PREFER to have class specific heirlooms. You hit 40 pretty fast and I just prefer to have the right armor on no matter what class I'm playing. I kind of side-eye and snicker to myself whenever I see a resto shaman in the cloth set. I'm terrible.

It also kind of drives me nuts that there is no healing plate set for PvE. There are healing PvP shoulders but that's it. :(

oh my GOD, this. I'm leveling a holy pally right now, and using the mail set that I had from my shaman... and it's very irritating :(

I was really surprised they didn't add healing plate heirlooms when they finally added the tank ones.

I bought cloth to start with as every character can wear that, and I didn't mind running my plate-wearers around in cloth for the experience bonus. Not in instances, mind. Had a warrior tank in dreadmist the other day, he was a pain. ._.

Since then I've been buying class-specific, though. I think it's likely you're seeing more of that now because we're just before another tier shift, so lots of people who've been grinding VP through the dailies have extra JP to burn.

Were we in the same run? I was in a Mechanar group where the tank was wearing the cloth robe. "For the XP LOL." We vote-kicked him. :/
