Oh sweet. I'll tell her all this.

Maybe we'll see each other next year! What are you going as!? I have no idea what I'll do. I'll probably wing it or be lame and don't cosplay at all. (I'm lame!)

I don't know if it will work for her, but I find http://entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html this particular tutorial to be pretty helpful. While I don't cosplay WoW, I will be doing Assassin's Creed outfits and will be using this for some of the things.

Best of luck to your friend!!

Me and some friends made costumes for the premiere of the last Lord of the Rings movie; we made helms and quivers, using either papier maché (or however you write it), or chicken wire, newspapers and wallpaper glue. That works very well.

(P.S. I'm not English, so if I've used some words that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll dig up some better words.)

In the past w/ cosplay, I used foam (like the stuff you buy at joannes to reupholster chairs, regular foam.) And a hardening agent. They actually make stuff specifically intended to make a hard layer on the outside of foam.

Also recommend to her cosplaylab.com
