So apparently I had never tried to go into HMT before. But now I'm farming for the Phoenix pet (drops in reg, too, I'm aware) and the mount (only drops in heroic, if I'm not mistaken). Have you checked inside reg. Magister's Terrace to see if you started the chain before but dropped it while in the instance? The next step is to find the body of a guy in MGT, then to watch the cinematic I think, then to kill Kael.

Oh, I forgot about that part. A friend actually went with me and took me directly to the dead guy I'm supposed to find or whatever, and the body is there, but I can't *do* anything with it. I am positive that I don't have any of the quest chain in my quest log, so I'm not surprised.

Yeah, I'd try the orb next, in case you did check out the guy but never completed the next step.

turn on tracking low level quests and I am pretty sure the guy is in one of the buildings where you get the dailies. lemme see if i can find him on wowhead

Yep, he starts it then you have click on the orb after ... Vex, Vax, the big void walker boss right after you go outside, watch the cinimatic. An NPC will spawn around the corner, turn in, accept the next part, kill the end boss, turn in and poof, Heroic mode.

You definitely need to use the orb to continue on the chain.

Have you found the guy inside? He gives you the quest that takes you to the orb. Maybe you didn't click on the orb?

The orb is behind Vexallus, on your way through. There's a screenshot on the followup wowhead page: http://www.wowhead.com/quest=11490

I actually just went and completed the quest chain on a few of my alts out of boredom last weekend and had no problems picking up the quest from Exarch Larethor. Also, after you kill Kael'thas, you can use the red orb behind him to port back to turn in the quest.

OK, I bet that's what I missed, because I don't remember that. Probably finished part of the chain ages ago and just never picked up the next step. Going now to check.

I know you've solved your problem, but I just wanted to say that what the GM told you? Complete bullshit. I hope you got a survey option, because they are supposed to be able to assist you with things like that; he wasn't doing his job.

To be fair, that wasn't a direct quote, but it was the general gist of the email. It looked very much like it was just copied and pasted from somewhere. It didn't actually even mention my specific issues or anything. Just talked about how helping me would be unfair and they were sure I could figure it out and I was welcome to use fan sites. Bah.
