Anyone else get annoyed when they see the loading screen ad for race change that shows an Undead and a Belf that says "Because I'd rather be a Blood Elf"? Because obviously everyone wants to be *pretty*!

I kind of get annoyed when people look down on those who want to be blood elves. :\

I don't have a problem with people wanting to be blood elves, but I hate how the ad implies that other races are less desirable.

I almost think the "because I'd rather be a blood elf" thing was more of a "blood elves are a new race, and maybe you'd like to try it out since you started your char before they were available" kind of thing. But I could be wrong. :)

Maybe. I guess it hits a nerve with me because I love my little undead priest. And I've definitely met my share of players who only want to play the "pretty" races... Belf, Human, Nelf.

I think the hideous gnome one has more of the "because you want to be pretty!" feel. :/

To be honest, it cracks me up. Majority of my characters are undead and it just makes me think 'if only paladins could be undead' and not much more. Nothing against Blood Elves, i just love the forsaken.

I have never really seen Blood Elves as the "pretty" race, all the races are pretty in their own quirky way. Even Orcs. hehe.

It's hard to explain, but that's kind of my point, and thus my issue with it. If they ever had an ad that went the other direction, I wouldn't mind it as much. But for ages now, all I ever see is the "I'd rather be a Blood Elf" thing.

They are certainly the most "traditionally" pretty race of the Horde, though.

And /highfive for Forsaken! There's a reason half my toons are undead. :D I would kill for Forsaken paladins.

I think there is a certain stigma going around on being Blood Elf (or Draenei for that matter "lol spacegoat" -_-)

But yes, I do get what you mean, and yes, it did irritate me.

I got a question one day from a total random on why I was a Blood Elf.
"I like elves." I said and got a "Fair enough!" back :P
Was just so random but it made me smile :)
