Help a little roguey out!

Feb 25, 2011 09:25

I have played combat rogue since the very beginning and heard that Assassination Talent Build gives higher Dps PVE wise.  I went on elitist jerks to find the rotation out and it was like i was reading Japanese.

Can anyone of you lovely people help a girl out?

rogue: assassination, role: dpsing

If you use addons, Vendetta keeps track of the assassination rotation and cues you about what to hit next. I switched to assassination myself for the same reason and I found Vendetta helped to remind me until I felt more comfortable. (I still use it because I tend to have moments of "I've totally forgotten what I'm doing!" but that's a me thing.)

What else was I... oh yeah! A guildmate told me that a good macro for Mutilate is #showtooltip Mutilate
/cast Cold Blood
/cast Mutilate
Cold Blood increases the chance of your next attack being a critical strike by 100%, and it's not on the GCD, so putting it in the macro this way guarantees that a) you'll use it every time it's up and b) the Mutilate right after it will be a critical strike. Alternatively, you can use it with Envenom for big numbers.

Similarly, if you're an herbalist, another good macro is #showtooltip Vendetta
/cast Lifeblood
/cast Vendetta
Lifeblood boosts your haste rating by 480 and Vendetta allows you to keep sight of your target, no matter what, while boosting ( ... )

You've got lots of good advice on Assassination from the people before me. I just wanted to add that the last patch fixed the Combat spec. It's now raid-viable and holding its own against Assassination in the deeps department! So if Combat is what you like, don't feel like you have to give it up. :)
