This week something happened to me that re-affirmed my faith in gamers. It's funny, because the situation leading up to it was anything but enjoyable. After raid night on Thursday, I joined a group on my server trying to get the heroic achievement for Vanessa VanCleef.

I'm glad your story had a good ending. I hope you get the achievement soon. :)

It's the last one that I need for my drake. I so wish I had gotten it before 4.0.6! I was in shock when, after the patch, we jumped down in the forge area immediately into fire (the fire spawns immediately now -- it didn't use to spawn immediately pre patch).

I don't know if it was hot fixed or not, but you could soft reset the Vanessa encounter. All you had to do was wait 30 minutes and try again. At least that's what our main tank was saying when we went in to get it. If you guys had wanted to try waiting for 30 minutes, and lets face it, it can take that long some days just to find a tank, you could have saved yourself the stress over what the last tank had done.

That being said, I'm glad guild leadership will take responsible action against people who do dick things like what he had done. Can't say they always will, but the good ones do.

You CAN soft reset the instance -- but you wouldn't be able to queue yourself in LFG looking for a replacement tank. Once you are saved to a heroic you can't queue for it :(.

But you can bring in new people. That's how they got me to heal for them. So it's a matter of finding, not LFG, a new tank. But it can be done.

Glad his guild leadership was so responsive. I know I don't want anyone like that in my guild.
