WoW-themed crafts

Feb 08, 2011 10:44

A while ago, critchicken posted an entry with a bunch of her adorable plush Night Elf kitties. One of those was her half of a trade with me.  Since today is a slow patch day, I'd like to share my half of the trade.

Some pictures under the cut. )

Haha, what a compliment!

You know...I'm always looking for an excuse to craft things. If you want to do some kind of trade, I will gladly make you one too. =)

Alas, I have no crafting skills of my own. :\ Pretty much all I do is make icons and such.

I might be interested! But not.. right now. >.> I just moved, and I have no idea where all my supplies are. :)

I am a graphic artist though, not a terribly active crafter. :)

Thank you! Yeah, it was so comfortable that I may just have to make another one for myself.

Thanks!

I would love to do an Alliance version! It would probably be a lot more difficult with the lion and all, so I haven't looked into it too hard yet.

Fleece doesn't fray. JUST SAYING!! (It looks like you used fleece, but the picture doesn't do it justice so I could be wrong). No sewing around the edges if you do the alliance emblem in fleece.

You could do two layers of fleece with fusable interfacing that doesn't quite go to the ends... then cut the edges of the blanket into 2-3 inch long strips (no more than an inch wide) and knot them for extra "hold". That's the no-sew version of a fleece blanket. The emblem would have to be sewn on, I think, but I'd still using fusable to keep it steady while sewing it on. Use a wide decorative stitch with the same color thread as the yellow fleece and it adds a nice two-tone detail to an otherwise really simple blanket.

Dammit, why do I have to move in a couple months. I can't justify buying the fabric or breaking out the serger.

The big red piece on the bottom/inside is fleece, but the black and the emblem are both flannel.

Thanks for the tips! If I ever decide to make an Alliance version I'll give that a try.
