Googling is totally failing me :(

First, I have a baby frost mage Pendrangie. I think I have her regular dps spec worked out, but I'm not sure about her pvp spec. :( I can't find anything about it when googling. I just need a simple talent tree, like on wowhead or something. So anyone have a tips or talents I can look at would be great.

Second, my baby shaman Safyire isn't sure ( Read more... )

pvp: battlegrounds, druid: feral, shaman: general, mage: frost

have you tried finding talent trees on wowpopular.com? It might give you something to start off with anyway.

I did, but for feral druids they don't really say which is kitty and which is bear. I looked for mages as well, but I don't know which would be better for pvp and which would be better for questing and stuff. I don't know much about pvp specs for anything other than hunters. >.>

I don't know much about Mage PvP but I found this guide here on mmo-champion that might help. Otherwise, there might be other resources on the arenajunkies.com forums as well. You should be able to find spec suggestions you can use as you level up.

This leveling shaman guide covers specs, glyphs, and totem usage for all three specs. Hopefully it'll answer everything for Resto and Elemental to make questing/dungeons easier for you. Generally you'll use totems to provide buffs that will benefit the party you're with, or cover buffs that might not be provided by other classes. When I leveled my shaman I chose my totems based on whether the dungeon group had a melee or caster majority, assuming those buffs weren't provided by other classes ( ... )

\o/ Thank you so much!

These guides will make my life so much easier, especially the shaman one as I always forget which classes bring which buffs. /o\

I am new to tanking, I'm a DPSer at heart, but I really want to try all the roles.

Oh man, yeah. I'm in the process of making a big list I keep by my computer of which classes have buffs that don't stack with various totems. It is a big list.

IDK anything about resto, but for Ele:

Water: Since you'll be using Lightning shield, you'll probably want a Mana totem as ele.

Air: Wrath of Air.

Fire: Use Flametongue until you get the talent that makes all your fire totems give SP. Then you'll use Magma on trash and Searing on bosses and Fire Elemental when appropriate.

Earth: This one gets swapped out depending on fight mechanics. If there's no particular mechanic, I use Stoneskin (unless there's a paladin in the party, since stoneskin and dev aura don't stack).

Druid tanking! Druids get some of their abilities pretty late. I wouldn't try tanking until 24 at the EARLIEST, which is when you get Feral Faerie Fire, which helps with the whole "holding aggro" thing. At that point, you can absolutely tank, but you'll want to mark targets, since you don't get Challenging Roar until 28, and don't get Swipe until 36. So DPS getting all AoE happy is going to suck before then.

:DDD Thank you!

I will write this down so I don't forget! >:D

:( Poor bear tanks, getting major talents so late.

I'd argue that even Searing on trash is a good plan, at least in the higher level instances.

Benefits of magma: AOE. You get to fire nova. Yay, more AOE.

Downsides of magma: you have to get really close to the trash. It doesn't last very long, so you'd have to get really close to the trash AGAIN. If a fire nova goes off on a CC'd target...well...I've never tried it, but it probably breaks it. In any case, I tried magma in Wrath, when AOE was THE THING, and I couldn't even get close enough to the trash to drop it before the trash was dead, and I can honestly say as a level 85 elemental shaman, I rarely use it. Granted, I don't raid in this expansion yet, but it's a very specific use totem from what I've seen.

Aside from that. OP: your spec. Ditch elemental warding unless you're pvping. Used to be a wonderful flat percentage of damage reduction. Not so much now. Fill out elemental reach and start in on lava flows.

I hadn't even thought about the placement issue, which is kind of hilarious since I have placement issues with Magma as enhancement, where at least I'm already close to the trash. I'm glad to hear Searing goes well on Cata trash. I love my Searing totem.

For resto (some of this might not apply at your level, but I think most of it should):

Air - wrath of air, unless there's a shadow priest with the haste buff in the group - in that case, drop windfury.

Earth - drop Strength of Earth unless there's a death knight or Enhancement shaman in the group, in which case drop Stoneskin.

Fire - drop flametongue totem.

Water - if there's a paladin buffing you with Might (which also has the old mp5 buff from Wisdom rolled into it), drop healing stream. Otherwise, drop mana spring, unless you're not having any mana issues.

glyph your healing stream totem to add +resistance to fire, frost and nature damage to it, and always drop that as resto (unless you have another shaman who also has it glyphed).

I tend to use healing stream on my Shammy since I have the glyph that adds resistances to the effect.
