Posting Guidelines
Be Constructive. Namecalling, harassment, & otherwise flaming other members is not allowed. Causing drama may be entertaining for you, but it isn't for us, and it isn't for those who just want some serious answers to their questions or advice for their problems revolving around WoW. Please review our Anti-Oppression Policy for more information on how this rule applies.
Don't freeze/screen/delete comments. If you make a post in wow_ladies, do NOT disable comments or freeze/screen/delete comments. Any posts that have comments disabled will be deleted. After all, wow_ladies is a community - posts should be made with the intent to discuss. Because of this, plain intro posts are also not allowed unless there is something to discuss within the content of the post. Post deletion in the cases of sig requests/etc are encouraged and not against the community rules.
Please check the tags and recent posts before creating a new post to make sure the topic is not already being covered or answered. If you don't know how to add tags/what tags are, please visit the Livejournal Tags FAQ.
LJ cuts! If you wish to post large screen shots (larger than 400 pixels wide) or spoilers that is fine with us as long as it is appropriately flagged and hidden behind an ljcut. To use an lj cut simply put this text before and after your content: YOUR CONTENT HERE
WoW Ladies - Safe for Work Many ladies visit from places where your troll boobies might get them in trouble, so please make sure all icons contain no nudity! Please keep any NSFW commentary, art, or discussion behind an LJ cut. Using the word rape casually, or divulging rape kink, is considered a violation of the community rules and will be deleted immediately. Trigger warnings where appropriate are also appreciated.
Discussing things that are against Blizzard/World of Warcraft's ToS is against the rules and any posts along these lines will be deleted. Examples of issues that are against Blizzard/World of Warcraft's ToS include, but are not limited to: gold buying/selling, account sharing/selling/buying, model editing, the use of hacks (i.e. a speed increase hack), getting into a closed area of the game, private servers, etc. Making a post asking for advice on how to deal with knowing a guildmate/guild/friend does one or more of these things is alright. Posting saying how you did one or more of these things is not. When in doubt, contact the moderation team before posting.
Post Reproduction for Snark Purposes Reproducing material from within the wow_ladies community for repost in drama and/or snark communities for the specific purpose of mocking wow_ladies members is against the community rules. You are welcome to friends lock any posts made to WoW Ladies for your protection.
Please, no plain intro posts. We here at wow_ladies are a big, friendly, and welcoming group, and we do not want to ban intro posts outright. With that said, we at the time of this writing we have over 7000 members, so we ask that if you do choose to introduce yourself, you do so in a post that has other top-level-post-worthy content, such as a screenshot, a discussion topic, a rant, a question, a recruitment post, etc. We are consolidating all "You Know You Play Too Much WoW When..." posts into a theme post on Wednesdays! Keep your eyes peeled.
Do not strike-out posts - If it is a guild signature request, please just delete it. If your query has been answered, an edit at the bottom in bold will suffice. Our members use the tags to check for answers to questions and other information, finding a post entirely struck out is very hard to read.
Don't make posts for the sole purpose of begging. -We don't mind if members use WoW Ladies to network and make friends, but simply asking for bags, gold, items, or instance runs isn't allowed. Trading, sharing, and other forms of community interaction are accepted at this time.
Limit promotions to once weekly. -This includes blog and fan fiction updates. While we appreciate that you want to share with the community, daily updates to a community this large can lead to a lot of clutter on the front page.
No naming and shaming. -Posting an armory/unedited screenshot of a player for mockery is not allowed.
Generic account hacking/retrieval posts will be deleted, please check the Official Hacked/Phishing FAQ. - Due to feedback from the community and a general overabundance of posts regarding hacking, we are no longer allowing generic posts requesting hacking information and links. Please consult the linked hacking FAQ if you need information!
