Not raid loot, though I suppose if such a thing exists for raiding it would be helpful for this too ( Read more... )

You know those spirit/strength pieces make fantastic enchanting mats. Yeah, seriously that's all those are good for.

Honestly I would just go read up on the wowwiki class pages till you have a basic understanding of each class then wing it, seems to work for me. :D

I tried that, and the dyslexia had a field day twisting even my own notes around on me. I think I'm going to have to go through them and colour code some class notes, especially for the classes I haven't touched yet.

Glad to know I'm not way off base boggling at the spi/str pieces though. Thank you! =)

If it's Spi/STR, I send it to my enchanter to eat, personally...

More helpfully, would http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/mmo/articles/47244.aspx be useful? You may yet need to write your own list based on the levels of the alts in question, but looks like that article could help?

*bookmarks to go through once I have a few hours sleep under my belt*

That just may be very helpful indeed. Thank you! Having things broken down even to spec is awesome!

I've been spending the last 45 minutes or so writing notes to myself, in case I forget I bookmarked that page. It actually lays out the stats and derived stats in a way I can grasp!!!

str, stam, agi = war/pal/dk
int, spirit, mp5, sp = priest/druid
int, mp5, sp, haste, crit = holy pally/resto shammy
ap, agi, expertise, hit = enh shammy, hunter (no expertise though)
int, spirit, haste, crit, sp = mage/lock

i dunno, those are just basics, really :P of course i'm not gonna list everything.. that would be too much.. pllus i'm really tired and can't think, so yeah..

would help to know what level and class these alts are :D

As a starter for 10 on the most basic level you could begin with:

If its a blue bar Int, Spirit are nice. Strength and any of the defence stats (def, parry, dodge, block) are useless.

*Agility is mainly a yellow bar stat.

*If the bar is yellow or red int and spirit are useless so are the spell stats (sp, mana regen)

*Hunters are the exception that'll take both int and agility, enhancement shammys also fall into this category.

Tanks like strength, and shields, but dks can't use shields.

And I'll stop there, it's only meant to be rough and I'm sure others can tab in bits of info to :)

of the bear: str/stam - war, pal, DK
of the tiger: str/agi - any melee
of the monkey: agi/stam - rogue, feral druid, hunter, enh shaman
of the falcon: agi/int - hunter, enh shaman
of the eagle int/stam - any caster
of the owl int/spi - priest, druid

of the gorilla (str/int), boar (str/spi), wolf (agi/spi), whale (spi/stam), or pretty much any single stat you might as well vendor or shard. The one exception to this is low level "of spellpower" which can be useful. Once you get to outland there are more combinations, use your judgement on those based on what combinations you have of the above stats.

PS I fail at finishing post the first time >.>
