I just had to share with people who would understand. This all happened within the course of about 15 minutes.
I will add a note that this was my first time EVER trying the fishing competition. I work every Sunday so the BB one has always been out of the question. And I usually spend Saturdays with my bf, so I've never really had time to do the Kalu'ak one. I finally decided today that I'd try it since I had time. I followed the suggestions on Al's Extreme Anglin' and set my hearth to Dal, turned graphics down to low, and fished around the lumber mill in Grizzly Hills. I even got killed once by an Ally who was apparently just trolling. When I caught the fish (about 6 mins into the contest), I panicked so much that I hit the icon for my tailoring stuff instead of my hearth and then my screen froze up because I have an add-on that sorts recipes. When it finally unfroze, I hearthed and my hands were shaking so badly that I kept running into stuff while trying to fly back through Dal to the elder. Another person ran up to him a half second after I did but I somehow managed to select Boots of the Bay and click complete first, despite all the hand shaking going on.
After that, I went out fishing just to see if I could potentially catch another shark to get an extra bag o' treasures (and a shot at the shiny pole), which is when I fished up the sea turtle mount.
Guess I have no excuse now not to go finish up the last 3 achi's I need for the Salty title...
