It's Spring

Bessie has come on heat, and as we are planning puppies this has put me into a bit of a state. The male will be from Me Vinen's pack of deerhounds, and she lives in a chateau near Tours, about 4 hours drive. I can't have any extra time off work, as there isn't any one to replace at the moment, so somehow I have to get Bess up there and then fetch

Hey, I did already friend her following the stuffed crocodile post. I look forward to getting to know her better.
And a swallow flew into the kitchen yesterday, trying to build a nest against our cobwebby but utterly suitable beams. I had to chase him out, or we would be obliged to keep the door open for the rest of the year, well until the celandines went, anyway.
