There are a lot of competitive personalities within this City.

The fastest racer, the best dancer... this is all well and good but for what purpose? What does it all matter?

holier than thou, not cursed, god

The saying.

"The first shall be last.
"And the last shall be first."

Is that your meaning?

Exactly that, Katan. Surely you empathize.

How often does one use dance as a means of survival?

He exists.

Blind to recognize a curse?

Competition is natural. The deities twist it to their amusement.

Is enjoyment not a worthy cause?

Personal enjoyment has a tendency to be rather self-serving if practiced too often without care. When deeds are done for the glory of God, there is an abundance of pure enjoyment.

One should do things they enjoy at least sometimes, right? Otherwise, what's the point of living?

To live a life befitting what He has planned for you.

To show the masses they're all still animals on the inside.

That is a given if being human means one is a creature.

It is not for the glory of God, I'm lead to believe that the second answer is no.

Call me a little traditional, but I was sure that humility was revered.

Maybe it's the gods doing here for their own entertainment.
