Apologies as this does not relate to the post, but I'm coming down to London next wednesday and hanging around for just over a week. Would you like to meet for a cup of tea and a chat?! :)

Ps I can't remember if you go to Vampyre Connexion, but I'll be there next thursday.

Would be good to see you! I'm not going to the Connexion meeting. I am going to the Tate Modern on Friday with a friend if you'd like to join us. Otherwise, I know I'm free on the following Monday evening - not sure about other days yet.

hi, sorry for the late reply, Tate Modern sounds good, what sort of time. Monday evening I'm planning to go to a English/French/miscellaneous music session in the George Inn, in London Bridge, you'd be welcome to come, but I tend to play lots, rush over for a couple of minutes to talk, and then run back because their playing an irrestible tune! :)

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply.

This Friday I will be meeting up with others in the Wellesly Pub in Waterloo (opposite platform 3), at around 5.30-5.50, depending on how quickly I can get out of work.

I have a temporary mobile no. of 07944582392

What plans do you have for the rest of your stay?

Is there anything in the film that links the Persians to modern day Iranians? I strongly suspect your "average joe" especially americans would have no idea.

And frankly, most people have no idea that persia and iran are in any way related, something that the healthy market for persian carpets is dependent on.

By some coincidence (or not) BBC2 showed "The 300 Spartans" [1962 film] on Saturday. I gather that Mr Miller cited it as a major influence, to the extent that he has apparently yoinked some of the dialogue verbatim.
