Not so resolute resolutions

So I know it's that time of the year where people gear up to post their New Year's resolutions and such.  This fact makes me wonder, what is it about the human spirit that drives us to make these resolutions then not follow through with them

i think a good new year's resolution would be to pick up the mega man x anniversary collection. personally, i find that a very ambitious goal. but that's just me.

my only resolution is stop making resolutions.

my resolution last year was to talk to more people on the phone while on the toilet. even this one was left somewhat unresolved by the middle of the year.
