Hi and welcome!

This community has been inspired by 50states_spn, but instead of focusing on the local specialties of the United States of America it focuses on those of every other country except the United States of America.

This is not meant to single out the US Americans and bully them - it's just because the Americans already have their local fanworks challenge. And now everyone else has, too!

You can still participate if you're from the USA - you just have to pick a different country to write about.

Which brings me to the point of this entry:

Rules

- Every piece of fanwork entered in the challenge must focus on something particular to the country you're writing about. It can be food or music, traditions or - right with the spirit of the show - a local ghost story. It is said the lake nearby is haunted? Go for it! Your favourite restaurant serves a burger you think even Dean would get on a plane for? Awesome. Or just have Castiel emergency land in your local mountains and get lost. Pick whatever you like, as long as it's a unique part of that country.

- There is a very easy word limit of 1000 words for witten works. Artists have to submit at least one finished picture. There is no maximum for either.
If there is any other medium besides stories or art you want to do, PM me about it!

- All ratings and genres are welcome.

- It is allowed to sign up for more than one entry. It is also allowed to write a story and add illustrations for it. (This counts as one piece of work.) However, you can't add a piece of work you didn't sign up for beforehand, i.e. a fic about Russia if you did not sign up for Russia.

- Collaborations are welcome - be it a team or writers or a writer/artist pair-up as known from the bigbangs. If a writer has signed up for one story, an artist can add artwork for the story without having signed up first or even being official participant of the challenge. Story and art must be posted together, though.

- Crossovers are not allowed.

- RPF is not allowed.

- Historical AUs are very welcome.

- It is not strictly necessary to have the story take place outside of the US. However, even if it doesn't, it still has to focus strongly on whatever it is from your chosen place that the characters are dealing with. Mentioning in passing that the weather is bad in China does not meet the requirements of this challenge.

- You don't have to be from the country you signed up for, though naturally, that would help.
You can sign up for more than one country.

- There is no limit to how many people are allowed to sign up for a country.

- All stories must be written in English, for obvious reasons.

Did I forget anything? If there are any questions, this is the place to ask!
