I love Reed's little sister. But yes, much as Heroes is the worst TV show I watch, Ultimate Fantastic Four is the cut-off point below which I don't buy comics. Still, Jeph Loeb's taking over soon - at which point the cut-off point will move up.

- what are enid's powers? - she talks abt them quite a lot ( "i go all shiny" ) but despite her saving the day in the gollection i read, we don't see her using 'em

i wonder if she's a tribute to enid coleslaw of ghostworld fame...?

jeph loeb = a secret agent for dc, making bad marvel gomics ( like geoff johns before him )

( i like heroes tho )

So do I - at least, enough to keep watching it. But bits of it annoy me quite horribly.

Loeb has been on the slide for some time, including plenty of his DC work. Besides, he couldn't do so much damage if he hadn't been given control of the Ultimate U by the increasingly erratic Joe Q...

Enid's powers were a temporary result of Diablo's misfiring plan in the previous story, Devils. I don't think she retained them really.

i like loeb's batman stories w/tim sale & jim lee - tho the latter obv = batman for marvelites

unless i've got the wrong end of the stick ( perfectly possible ), enid, the ff & pals all seem to think she's still got super powers* in vol.9 "silver surfer" - mind you, no one's powers are used to goob effect ( unless you count reed's super brain ) anywhere in the story

* whatever they may be

Goob to see you back here! I am surprised you don't talk at all about football, though...

My comics cut-off point is above anything written by Mike Carey.

mike carey's ultimate fantastic four = light years ahead of the lucifer tpb of his i read - mind you, ff = a marvel gomic, so automatically better than a dc BY LAW

( - i saw an interview somewhere where he talked abt writing for fa & trident but i don't remember him )

arsenal: i bet we beat ac milan on weds

b.rovers: only one more round to get through & then you'll be going to wembley again...!

Yeah, he did, a bit. I'll try his UFF if I see it in a library or something like that. I'd like to like some of his work.

Milan haven't been great this year, so if you can find your best form again, I think you can take them.

It would be wonderful to get to Wembley, or just a semi-final. It's not our of the question that we could get a home draw against, say, Cardiff and win it; and if another quarter is something like Preston-Barnsley and we got the winner... I can't really picture us in an FA Cup Final, but it isn't completely beyond the realms of possibility. That might change after the draw, obviously.

carey's ult.ff = perfectly readable but by no means essential imo ( - pretty pictures by p.ferry too )

the fa's semi final gommitment: do you think they'll still use wembley for the semis even if one of 'em = ( for example ) b.rovers vs cardiff...? - i do hope so

Hello! We were wondering where you'd got to :)

I saw a Masterchef a couple of weeks ago and the voting-off bit was so traumatic! John Torode reminds me a bit of Doctor 'not a real doctor' Fox.

was it the one where someone made trifle and MT sed "d00d this is masterchef you can't just make trifle" and the other guy was like "d00d TRIFLE! OM NOM NOM NOM IN YOUR BED!"

- this was known as "triflegate" in masterchef fandom

- hallo - & belated birthday greetings - hope you had a great day...!

part of the appeal of masterchef = the ridiculously over the top way they take it so seriously: "cooking doesn't get any tougher than this...!"

i do actually like john "the toad" torode tho - unlike "doctor" fox ( who imo looks like a sentient meat pie that's gone off ) ( thankfully we don't see him on the telly so much these days )

still, he's not so bad as "doctor" gillian, i spose

Good to have you back.

HAve you any thoughts on the Kate Garraway libel action - over claims about a relationship with Tony Beak?
