I caught a bit of 'Ruddy Hell! Paul's a big enough star now that we have to give him joint billing!', and it wasn't too bad. I Like Bono's dialogue being entirely made up of U2 song titles. And it gets the great Morwenna Banks back on telly, and that can't be bad.

hi tony - i know lots of people who like her but i've never really seen the appeal/comedic talent of morwenna banks* (exception: she was quite goob on reeves & mortimer's excellent catterick, esp. when miming to C&W) - the other lady on "ruddy hell" (laura solon?) seems a much more natural gomedy performer

still we're allowed to like different things/people, apparently...

* i esp. hated that dire little girl skit she used to do on "absolutely" - mind you, she was in goob company - noone was funny on that dreadful show except for the little welsh bloke

i betcha "ruddy hell" would never have been made without paul whitehouse's involvement - enfield has had what? ten years in the wilderness...?

Now there we disagree, as I consider Absolutely to be pure comic genius (though I'll concede that Banks' material was often the weakest).

I said to a friend at work that I thought that show should be called "ruddy hell! who are those blokes with Morwenna Banks?"

I think you do her an injustice by missing out her splendidly nasal teasing performances on Steve Coogan's Saxondale

I'm afraid I also did like her on the ghastly Absolutely.

ps: I'm listening to Beach Boys too: Busy Doin' Nothin'

i forgot saxondale...! not sure ms.banks = the star turn tho - i like his gormless assistant (& his g/f obv) (but for different reasons!)

previous to a gouple of days ago i thought nigel fletcher was the only person in the world who liked "absolutely"! (it was one of the few things that used to drive me away from the telly in palmers green

I don't think you should let Humphreys get away with his solecism. Write to him!

I might buy the Barbie cat if you haven't made it up.
