A few people have (charitably) inquired as to the status of Project TK (now, contained within fewer time-consuming brackets!). Things have been progressing, and I've been wanting to record an update. But whenever I get the notion, I am. . .well, I stop. And I never thought much about why, but I imagine it's because Project TK is not Power Point- ( Read more... )

Way to go!! I'm starting my "Stop Being So Freaking Lazy" schedule this week which will hopefully limit my laying-on-the-couch-watching-TV time and increase my productivity. So good luck to you, I can't wait to read your updates! Hopefully it will encourage me to stick with my plans too!

You know, and I'm TOTALLY NOT saying this applies to you, but I have been consulting with several medical professionals and it appears that my years-long bout of laziness may have not been all due to my active decision to be lazy. Which came as a bit of a shock, since I'm all about "I am the master of MY OWN destiny and if I don't get it done, it's because I didn't try hard enough." I mean, it was never deeply problematic, like narcolepsy or anything, but it was long-lasting. Woo to not being lazy together!

I don't know if you're interested in collaboration, but one of my friends from grad school has been tossing around children's book ideas for years, and she's very talented. One of my top three favorites from my class.

Oh! I am DEFINITELY interested in collaboration, or at least a mini-workshop group, so I have someone else to demand accountability. Or at least pester accountability. I'm flattered you'd think to put us together, thanks! You (or she) can email me directly at my lj address, worldforawhile@livejournal.com.

Hm, this plan idea sounds very good. Both your personal plan and the having of a plan. Maybe for now I can plan to have a plan.

Planning to have a plan also sounds good. Because you can use this time to get all the other stuff out of the way so you can focus on your plan. When you have it.

Hi, who are you and why did you just write about my life from 2004 to 2006?

Well, seriously, I'm so happy for you, because I went through the exact same motions of being miserable in not knowing what I want to do, of creating routines for myself that in the end led nowhere, and now I, too, have a vague pie-in-the-sky plan. Yayz!

I once had an interesting conversation with my CPA cousin. I was telling her about how I felt bad that I didn't know to the penny what was in my checking account because I figure as long as the bills are paid and there are no extraneous charges on my monthly statement, I shouldn't have to care. She said said she did the exact same thing. I've tried writing down all my expenses and stuff like that and I've never gotten too far with it because I save part of my paycheck, I invest some of it, and I use the rest to pay my bills and to have fun.

As for hobbies to pick up, I've always enjoyed crocheting. I'm still in the process of learning how to knit.
