Hairdresser sues for religious discrimination over hejab

A comment on the previous post reminded me of this case of a hairdresser who was turned down for a job in a salon specialising in "urban" cuts because she wanted to wear her hejab.  I think it provides an interesting comparision with the judo case because there's no safety issue here, only image.

My sympathies lie with the business owner. Geez.

Yeah, if I go into a salon, and someone has jacked hair, I sure as hell don't want them working on me. Similarly, if I can't see their hair, nor can I confirm that they've got some style and idea of what good hair looks like, I'm not going to want them to work on me either.

I'm with the business owner on this one.
