Malaysia

Hey, everyone. I'm going to be going to Malaysia for 4 days in August. Any tips on places to stay or see? I'll be flying into Kuala Lumpur and out of Panang (on the days on either end of the 4).
Also, would you reccomend taking the train overnight between the two, or is the view spectacular and not to be missed (therefore day train)?

Many thanks.

You have to eat the street hawker foods. I'm not sure where, but go to the more famous ones (well duh, so helpful I am -.-). This coming from a Malaysian ;) PENANG = FOOD PARADISE!

what's your budget for accomodations in KL? There's quite a few budget places around what is called the "Golden Triangle" (Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Sultan Ismail area) and also the high end places. It's also quite convenient place to be. A lot of the malls are there, nightclubs are there.

If you enjoy Chinese food, try the food on Jalan Alor (it's in that area). These are mostly street-side foods & few hole-in-the-wall eateries. There are some stalls that are well-known, but is hard to explain! Maybe ask the hotel guys to suggest.

Penang is food paradise! yum....

It's Visit Malaysia Year, and August will be the month for the most promotions (accomdoations & shopping) check out the site, also has places you can see: http://malaysia.travel/consumer/
