It's been a while since a lot of things.  I've been busy, but perhaps not with anything really worth while.  It took me four years working--fighting, really--my way to the top to realize it, but I know now.  When your relationships with people are professional, when they look to you to be their leader and give them direction, they care for you only

Y'know, it always baffled me that when you spoke of your personal life, it was so personal that really, only you knew about it, and you refused to speak of it with anyone else (or maybe just with me, I don't know.) I figured, what are friends for if friends don't know anything personal about you? Furthermore, are they truly friends at all? It's not like I wanted to know your deep dark secrets, but knowing how you felt and reacted to merely everyday things would have helped me and others to understand you.

only friends know that sometimes it's enough to be neither leader nor follower, but to sit and talk, to go nowhere, and to be happy for it.
