Weeding and writing

This was my weekend to put the garden to bed, except for the parsley and carrots, which we'll harvest until they are gone. In the case of the parsley that may be after Thanksgiving, because I have a small parsley hedge. Yup, gardening when you are stuck on your writing has always worked for me, too. I think that a lot of writers are gardeners ... there is something about keeping your hands busy that tends to free up the old brain cells. Wasn't it Agatha Christie who said, The best time to plan a book is while you're doing the dishes?
