Wednesday Wondering

Since I've started work on my something new, aka Triple D, I've been aware that where I am now is similar to where I was a year ago. With one crucial difference. Triple D is not the gift from the universe that StT was and has been. I'm not drawing so fully on my own realm of knowledge. Which is fine. It's good to mix it up ( Read more... )

Yes! If I don't exercise first thing, it doesn't happen. I don't particularly enjoy exercise, so I have to force myself to do it, and if I let myself get busy with other stuff, I just procrastinate until I'm in bed again ;) Summer is the hardest, because it's my only chance to catch up on sleep -- which means I often sleep until it's too warm to do anything outside. *sigh* But we will persevere :)

Yup, exercise. If we lived closer, we could force each other by walking together!

I actually consider exercise as part of writing -- I usually get a lot done in my head while walking, running or biking (not that I do much running these days...), and Aikido is simply non-negotiable.

Tragically, the thing I have the most trouble fitting in is writing. Because it is a solo activity and I have a husband who practically slathers to maximize the precious hours we have together...well, doing something together! And I can't very well blame him, now can I?
I also have trouble fitting in my walks. The idea is that I walk Brennan to the bus stop every day when he goes to work, and then I meander a bit on my way home listening to my iPod. I love talking long walks and listening to music, I do some of my best creative thinking (basically writing in my head) in those scenarios. But this week I have contrived to have something happening first thing in the morning every day and thus no walks!

But in summer my office is closed on Fridays so I am letting Brennan have the car and I intend to spend my summer Fridays doing nothing BUT walking and writing, so hopefully that will solve both issues!
