Thankful Thursday

Jan 13, 2011 12:25

I seldom post on Thankful Thursday, but from here on out, I will do so more regularly as a way of honoring lkmadigan , who posted her hard news yesterday. Her hard news and the shooting in Arizona have made me think more deeply that often in the past.

1. The community of writers I've found here on LJ. Some of you I've met in person before we connected here: patesdenRead more... )

After going over and reading LK Madigan's post, I am crying and I don't even know her. Thanks for mentioning it.
I read Tales of the Madman Underground and loved it. Got it from the library and now I'm going to get it for me.

I loved Tales of the Madman Underground too! I read it only a few weeks ago and, like you, decided to get it for me.

She's one talented writer! It will be a real loss.

Oops. Madman Undergroud is by John Barnes. But I did love it. LK Madigan is the author of Flash Burnout and The Mermaid's Mirror. Flash Burnout I've read and enjoyed.

You mentioned Tales in a previous post so I went to the library and got it and loved it. I think the way I wrote my comment was confusing. I felt so sad about LK Madigan, and I wanted to let you know I followed your advice and read Tales. Now I want to own it.

Thanks. If you haven't read any of LK Madigan's books, I'd highly recommend Tales of the Madman Underground, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I think she's only written two (well, that have been published, to date) -- FLASH BURNOUT (which is excellent) and THE MERMAID'S MIRROR (which is also excellent). They're both YA.
