The fact that it was Lawrence of Arabia fic meant that I just had to read your fic - the movie is wonderful, but so old that I never even considered looking for fic. I'm so glad I read it, though - it was absolutely beautiful! Very, very well-written - both Lawrence's and Ali's emotions were very well portrayed, both in their actions and in their words. The bittersweet note they parted on - that Ali preferred to keep his memories rather than have them tainted - was sharp and painful and very, very vivid, and the ending was just heartbreakingly perfect. Absolutely beautifully done - thank you for sharing this.

God this is brilliant. I have a nasty habit of reading fics without being familiar with the source material and this is one of the very few that sent me running to get my hands on it. And now I've seen the movie and read it five times again and it's even more brilliant.

The texture, the imagery, the emotion... all just so achingly pitch-perfect and evocative.

I just want you to know that you made my weekend!!! I watched one of my favorite movies to celebrate the Fourth (Lawrence of Arabia, natch), and as usual it stuck me how much they loooove each other, and it hit me like a ton of bricks "I bet there is Lawrence/Ali fic out there!!! There must be, they were made for it!" And dang if this beautiful fic wasn't the first thing I found. I love that it's from Ali's POV; because I always found Lawrence so hard to understand but Ali was so obvious about his feelings. I'm going to search this comm some more, but if you know of any other places I could find Lawrence/Ali, could you save me some time and hook a fangirl up? *loves you*
